COVID-19 – 5 Weeks On in Canada

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Here in Canada we are now onto 5 weeks of the Self-Isolation and I am starting to notice, much like in other countries it is starting to take a little bit of a toll of some people’s mental health. A lot of people are starting to feel the cabin fever from being locked indoors and not being able to do the things that they normally would want to do and restrictions are not about to be let up tomorrow because we are still going strong with the virus in our communities to this day.

I would have to say more in the past week than in any other time in the virus’ timeline have there been more uprisings, protests (not safe), fake news and reckless behavior than people have ever done during this crisis. People are not taking STAY AT HOME orders at all, and it is going to affect others by putting their lives at risk. The biggest thing that a lot of people are having a hard time doing, which to me proves a lot of the things that I am talking about to be correct, is the selfishness during this pandemic. The panic buying that happened in Early March, the protesting without proper PPE, the people who fail time and time again to practice proper social distancing, the people spreading the fake news just because it SOUNDS better to them than the truth, all of these things are putting other people’s lives at risk at the expense of saving your own ass.

I am tired of seeing society not willing to come together to help with this crisis. I will be honest, I do not want to hear of anyone else getting sick and getting this virus. Covid-19 has claimed enough lives…but if anyone is going to make it worse for everyone else…it is these morons. We are 5 weeks in in Canada…and still have anywhere from 4-6 weeks more before wave 1 is over, and I feel the worst is yet to come for some places and some people.

Stay safe and stay sanitized!

  1. Hey Marcus, interesting impressions 🙂 about me, it’s not easy at all to deal with the situation since I work as freelancer and I’m loosing so many works that every day I feel more and more anxious… But I’m trying to be motivated and find alternatives of work… All the best, be safe and greetings from Portugal, PedroL
